TENTATIVE AGENDA

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON FOREST MONITORING METHODOLOGIES FOR ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE USING ALOS PALSAR

Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agriculture University (IPB) in collaboration with the Forestry and Forest Product Research Institute of Japan (FFPRI) had conducted a series of research and workshop regarding the use of ALOS PALSAR data related to “Development of Forest Degradation Index and Carbon Emission Method Using PALSAR Data in Indonesia” since 2008. The first symposium had been successfully organized in September 2009. This year, to explore and share the development of ALOS PALSAR technology and its utilization as well as the practical experience obtained up to the present, we would like to organize the second symposium as follows: 

• Theme : International Symposium On Forest Monitoring Methodologies for Addressing Climate Change Using ALOS PALSAR 
• Venue : IPB International Convention Center 
• Date : 9 -10 November 2010  

This symposium is sponsored and organized jointly by FFPRI, JICA, IPB and CIFOR.
